Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in December 2019, the world has changed. There have been long-term effects on many different aspects of our lives. It’s undeniable that the pandemic has changed Hollywood and the way people can consume new movies, television shows, and music.

It’s not only movie fans that have changed the way they entertain themselves. In fact, there probably isn’t a section of the entertainment industry that hasn’t had to adapt because of the pandemic.

Here are some of the more common changes:

1) Streaming services increased in popularity

People have more choices of films, television shows, and music to consume. Streaming services like Netflix and Hulu have soared in popularity since the pandemic hit. It’s much easier to connect with loved ones across the globe if you can watch the same television show or movie at the same time.

2) Casinos moved online

Gamblers weren’t able to visit casinos. This has resulted in the massive growth of online casinos in countries where gambling is legal. Online casinos, such as mbitcasino.io, have come a long way since the pandemic. They are more interactive and have many more games. Bitcoin has also become a more popular and common way for people to pay for their gambling as well as other things. For more information, you can check Bitcoin News.

3) New film releases were online

With physical movie theaters off-limits to most people, film companies had no other option but to stream new releases online. This has resulted in an influx of new television, films, and music being released online.

4) Musicians embraced the internet

Musicians that normally performed in local venues had to find new ways to entertain their fans. The more innovative musicians started live streaming music and the more successful were able to massively increase their fan base, as the internet doesn’t limit the number in the audience in the same way as a venue can.

5) The rise of the online pub quiz

Fans of pub trivia games were given the chance to continue their hobby during the lockdowns. The internet made it possible for people from all over the world to be in a room answering one another’s questions with their own smartphones and PCs.

6) Sporting events were held behind closed doors

Large sporting events were either canceled or held behind closed doors with no crowds. This led to some sporting events that had very little atmosphere and is certainly one change that fans won’t miss.

7) The continued rise of podcasts

The invention of podcast technology has given thousands of different kinds of media a platform to reach their audience. Podcasts are becoming more and more popular every day, but it’s still doubtful that any person will ever be able to listen to all the different types of stories people have to tell.

Many of the changes brought about by the pandemic will continue to prove popular with audiences. However, as restrictions are eased across the world, many will want to return to more traditional entertainment. It will be interesting to see what the entertainment world will look like 50 years from now.
