HTC U12+ is the 2018 flagship of the Taiwanese brand with Edge Sense 2 squeezable feature. On the other hand, iPhone X from Apple is the most high end iPhone to-date. Which device features the best specifications? Let’s compare the specs of HTC U12+ and iPhone X.

HTC U12+ aka HTC U12 Plus features a 6-inches Super LCD 6 display with 2880 x 1440 pixels and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Display’s notch is trendy but HTC excludes it from this flagship. This flagship smartphone is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 845 SDM845 octa-core processor with Adreno 630 GPU. The U12+ is available in two variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM. The device supports further storage expansion through microSD. HTC U12+ doesn’t have 3.5mm audio jack as USB Type-C audio has replaced it.

HTC U12+ has a dual camera module on the back – 12MP HTC UltraPixel camera (f/1.8 aperture) + 16MP telephoto camera (f/2.6 aperture). Other key camera features such as dual tone LED flash, PDAF, OIS, laser focus, UltraSpeed auto focus 2.0, Raw mode and etc. Meanwhile the front-facing camera is a combination of two 8MP cameras. The operating system is Sense UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Apart from the fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, the HTC U12+ also comes with Face Unlock feature. The battery is a 3,500mAh battery with QC3.0. One of main selling points of this device is the Edge Sense 2 that allow users to squeeze the device for application access.

iPhone X aka iPhone 10 features a 5.5-inches Super Retina Display with 1125 x 2436 pixels, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. This iPhone is powered by 64-bit Apple A11 Bionic hexa-core processor with three-core GPU and M11 motion co-processor. iPhone X is available in two variants – 64GB and 256GB. It is common for iPhone without storage expansion and 3.5mm audio jack supports.

iPhone X has dual camera on the back – 12 MP Wide Angle (f/1.8 aperture, 28mm) + 12 MP Telephoto (f/2.4 aperture, 52mm). Other key camera features are dual OIS, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, digital zoom, quad-LED True Tone flash, 4K video recording at 60 fps and Slo-mo 1080p at 240 fps. Meanwhile the front-facing camera is a 7MP with f/2.2 aperture and Retina Flash. The operating system of iPhone X is iOS 11. iPhone X doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor as it uses Face ID to unlock screen. Face ID uses TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator. The battery is a 2,716mAh battery with fast charging and Qi Wireless support. The device is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance.
