Xiaomi’s subsidiary Black Shark has officially launched its latest gaming smartphone – Xiaomi Black Shark. It is the first gaming smartphone from Black Shark and Xiaomi. Let’s take a look at the device’s specs, price and details.
Xiaomi Black Shark features a 5.99-inches touchscreen display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution, which is more than sufficient for daily usage. The 5.99-inches display fits into the dimensions that measure at 161.6 × 75.4 x 9.25mm and weights at 190g.
For performance, it is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform and Adreno 630 GPU. The RAM options are 6GB and 8GB while the internal storage options are 64GB and 128GB. Unfortunately, there is no microSD slot for expansion. In this case, gamers are only able to install the games in the internal storage.
The main camera of Xiaomi Black Shark is a dual camera module – 12MP rear camera (with f/1.75 aperture, 1.25µm pixel size, dual-tone LED flash) and secondary 20MP rear camera (with 1.0µm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture). The camera on the front panel is a 20MP camera with 1.0µm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture. Regarding its network support, Black Shark is compatible with multiple LTE network bands and supports dual SIM, hence users are able to insert two SIM cards together. Other key features/specs are Dual Smart PA, Hi-Fi Audio, Dual Speakers, multiple sensors, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
Joy UI on top of Android 8.0 Oreo version is the operating system of Black Shark. As for the power, it does come with 4,000mAh non-removable battery (supports Quick Charge 3.0).
The outlook of Black Shark is a bit bulky and the Razer alike logo is on the back of the phone. It comes with liquid cooling to keep the phone cool when gaming by reducing the CPU’s core temperature by up to 8-degree. There is a shortcut SHARK key for immersive gaming experience. Gamers are also able to use the fingerprint sensor on the front to quickly access several features such as silent mode, DND and more when gaming.
This gaming phone has a dedicated image processing chip from Pixelworks offering intelligent motion compensation technology, image enhancement, dark scene detail processing, for smooth video quality when gaming. Further, it also has ‘X-style’ unique antenna design so that there are no signal issues when hold the phone vertically or horizontally.
Black Shark also introduced Gamepad can easily attach to the side of the phone and weighs just 40 grams so it is easy to carry. The pricing are CNY 2,999 for 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM version and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM version for CNY 3499. The Gamepad costs CNY 179.
