Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has launched as probably the best phablet in 2017. Meanwhile Meizu MX6 was announced as the first smartphone with TDDI InCell display and Meizu MX5 was its predecessor. Which device features the best specifications? Let’s compare the specs of Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Meizu MX6 and Meizu MX5.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inches Infinity Display with Quad HD+ resolution. This flagship smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 octa-core processor, which consists of two sets of quad-core processor based on Kyro 280 and Adreno 540 GPU. The Galaxy Note 8 is still a 6GB RAM smartphone and there are three storage options available – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Galaxy Note 8 is also available in another variant that is powered by 64-bit Exynos 8895 octa-core processor and it depends on the region.
The rear-facing camera of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a dual camera module, which consists of 12MP shooter (f/1.7 aperture, wide-angle lens, OIS) and 12MP shooter (telephoto lens, f2.4 aperture, OIS). The front-facing camera of is a 8MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens. For the OS, Samsung preloads it with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will receive Android 8.0 Oreo in the future. The battery is a 3300mAh battery with fast charging both on wired and wireless. Due to the Infinity Display, the Note 8’s fingerprint sensor is also on the back panel. Samsung also ensures that the Note 8 is able to withstand the water splash and dust resistance.
Meizu MX6 features a 5.5-inches TDDI InCell display with FHD resolution. This flagship smartphone is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797 deca-core processor, which consists of two Cortex A72 cores, two sets of four Cortex A53 cores and 780MHz Mali T880 GPU while RAM memory is 4GB. The rear-facing camera of Meizu MX6 smartphone is a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual tone LED flash while the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel shooter.
The operating system is Flyme OS on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it supports multiple 4G LTE bands. The battery of Meizu MX6 is a 3,060mAh built-in battery and there is a mTouch fingerprint sensor that embedded onto the home button. The Meizu MX6 has lower megapixels than the previous Meizu MX5, but the new Sony IMX386 camera sensor is indeed better. The TDDI InCell display of Meizu MX6 is also the first of its kind.
Meizu MX5 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo MT6795T octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM memory. The main camera of Meizu MX5 is a 20.7-megapixel camera with laser focus and Sony Exmor RS sensor together with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is running on Flyme 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and comes with a 3,150 non-removable battery as well as improved mTouch 2.0 fingerprint scanner. The Meizu MX5 is available in three version 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage option, bu doesn’t support storage expansion.
