Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has launched as probably the best phablet in 2017. Meanwhile Huawei Honor V9 with dual camera was introduced in 2017 and the Honor V8 was a year before. Which device features the best specifications? Let’s compare the specs of Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Huawei Honor V9 and Honor V8.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inches Infinity Display with Quad HD+ resolution. This flagship smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 octa-core processor, which consists of two sets of quad-core processor based on Kyro 280 and Adreno 540 GPU. The Galaxy Note 8 is still a 6GB RAM smartphone and there are three storage options available – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Galaxy Note 8 is also available in another variant that is powered by 64-bit Exynos 8895 octa-core processor and it depends on the region.

The rear-facing camera of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a dual camera module, which consists of 12MP shooter (f/1.7 aperture, wide-angle lens, OIS) and 12MP shooter (telephoto lens, f2.4 aperture, OIS). The front-facing camera of is a 8MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens. For the OS, Samsung preloads it with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will receive Android 8.0 Oreo in the future. The battery is a 3300mAh battery with fast charging both on wired and wireless. Due to the Infinity Display, the Note 8’s fingerprint sensor is also on the back panel. Samsung also ensures that the Note 8 is able to withstand the water splash and dust resistance.

Huawei Honor V9 AKA Honor 8 Pro features a 5.7-inches LTPS display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution (Quad HD). This flagship smartphone is powered by 64-bit Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor, which consists of four Cortex A73 cores and four A53 cores, as well as i6 co-processor and Mali G71 Octa-core GPU. The RAM memory options are 4GB and 6GB. There are two ROM options available – 64GB and 128GB while there is a slot for storage expansion.

The Huawei Honor V9 features a dual camera module, which consists of two 12-megapixel cameras on the back with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, laser auto focus, dual tone LED flash alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.0 aperture). This Honor smartphone is pre-installed with EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Regarding the fingerprint sensor, it is mounted on the rear panel. The colors available are blue, black, gold and red.

Huawei Honor V8 features a 5.7-inches display with FHD resolution (and Quad HD for high end model). It is powered by 64-bit Hisilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor (Hisilicon Kirin 955 for high end model) and 4GB of RAM. The rear-facing camera of Huawei Honor V8 smartphone is a dual 12-megapixel shooter while the front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel shooter.

The operating system is EMUI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it supports multiple 4G LTE bands. The battery of Huawei Honor V8 is 3,500mAh built-in battery and the fingerprint sensor of Huawei Honor V8 is on the back panel right below the camera lens. It has 32 and 64GB storage options and supports further expansion through microSD.
