Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is the larger sibling of S8 as both feature the new Infinity Display. On the other hand, the LG G5 comes with modular design, which is a failure and LG G6 with a new design has been launched for this year. Which device features the best specifications? Let’s compare the specs of Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, LG G6 and LG G5.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus features a 6.2-inches Infinity Display with Quad HD+ resolution. This flagship smartphone has two different processors as the US version is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 processor while EMEA regions will get 64-bit Exynos 8895 processor instead. S8 Plus is available in 4GB and 6GB RAM options while the internal storage options are 64GB and 128GB. Of course, it has a microSD slot too.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera, which consists of LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, OIS while the front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture too. Honestly, its rather surprise that the S8 Plus doesn’t feature dual module camera. It is pre-installed with TouchWiz UI on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. For the battery, it comes with a 3,500mAh battery and supports Quick Charge. Another surprise feature is the fingerprint sensor as Samsung has moved it to the back panel rather than the original home button position. In addition, the device also boasts Ultra High Quality Audio Playback as well as IP68 standard of water and dust resistant.
LG G6 features a 5.7-inches FullVision display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution (Quad HD). This flagship smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro quad-core processor, which consists of two sets of dual-core processor based on Kyro and Adreno 530 GPU . The RAM memory of LG G6 is still 4GB as the Korean decides not to join the 6GB RAM party. There are two ROM options available – 32GB and 64GB while there is a slot for storage expansion.
The LG G6 features dual camera module on the back, which consists of two 13-megapixel cameras alongside OIS 2.0, LED flash while the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture). The LG smartphone is pre-installed with LG UX 6.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Finally, LG brings an end to the removable battery and modular design as the LG G6 has a built-in battery with sealed cover. The fingerprint sensor of LG G6 remains on the back panel and it comes with new colors – Mystic white, astro black and ice platinum.
LG G5 has a 5.3-inch IPS LCD display with Quad HD resolution. It is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM memory. LG G5 has a duo 16MP+8MP rear-facing camera alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. This 4G LTE smartphone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with a 2,800mAh removable battery. The internal storage of G5 is 32GB and there is a microSD slot for expansion.
