BARCELONA – Korean brand LG has officially unveiled its latest smartphone in at MWC 2017 – LG G6. It is a premium flagship smartphone and LG has finally ditched the modular design. Let’s take a look at the device’s specs and details.
LG G6 features a 5.7-inches FullVision LCD touchscreen display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution (Quad HD), which is more than sufficient for daily usage. The 5.7-inches display with 80% screen to body ratio, fits into the dimensions that measure at 148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9mm and weights at 163g.
For performance-wise, it is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro quad-core processor, which consists of two sets of dual-core processor based on Kyro and Adreno 530 GPU alongside 4GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of LG G6 is 32GB and you don’t have to worry about storage because it also supports external storage expansion through microSD card.
This 5.7-inches device has a dual camera module on the back, which consists of two 13-megapixel cameras, dual tone LED flash, OIS 2.0, 4K video recording, 71-degree-wide angle lens alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for both selfie and video calls. With the supportive LED flash, users are able to capture brighter photos during the night and under low light conditions. Furthermore, the LED flash is can be used as a flash light as well.
Regarding its network support, LG G6 is compatible with multiple LTE network bands and supports dual SIM, hence users are able to insert two SIM cards together. Other key features/specs are USB OTG (TBC), NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, multiple sensors, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, as well as a reversible USB Type-C instead of old microUSB. It is the first smartphone to feature Dolby Vision technology and 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
LG UX 6.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat version is the operating system of LG G6. As for the battery, it does come with 3,300mAh of battery juice (non-removable). It has IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance that makes it safe to be immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for as long as 30 minutes.
LG G6 has a fingerprint sensor on the back panel, right below the camera lens. This Nougat flavoured smartphone is available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Mystic White colors.
