BARCELONA – French brand Alcatel has officially unveiled its latest smartphone at MWC 2017 – Alcatel U5. It is a low end Android smartphone with 4G LTE support. Let’s take a look at the device’s specs and details.
Alcatel U5 features a 5.0-inches IPS touchscreen display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution (FWVGA), which is slightly blurry for daily usage.
For performance-wise, it is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor, which consists of four Cortex A53 cores and Mali T720 MP2 GPU alongside 1GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of Alcatel U5 is 8GB and you don’t have to worry about storage because it also supports external storage expansion through microSD card.
This 5.0-inches device has a 5-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for both selfie and video calls. With the supportive LED flash, users are able to capture brighter photos during the night and under low light conditions. Furthermore, the LED flash is can be used as a flash light as well.
Regarding its network support, Alcatel U5 is compatible with multiple LTE network bands and supports dual SIM, hence users are able to insert two SIM cards together. Other key features/specs are USB OTG (TBC), 3.5mm audio jack, multiple sensors, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, as well as a micro USB port instead of reversible USB Type-C.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow version is the operating system of Alcatel U5. As for the battery, it does come with 2,050mAh of battery juice (removable).
