The Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor was introduced more than a year ago and the Korean company has teased on the new Exynos 9 series for its upcoming processor.

Earlier today, Samsung has teased on the new processor with a slogan – Discover Cloud 9 with Exynos. The digit 9 and the Exynos branding are the highlights and clearly the next Exynos processor belongs to the Exynos 9 series.

The new Exynos 9 processor is expected to power some models of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Samsung is expected to launch the Snapdragon 835 powered Galaxy S8 in major markets while several countries such as India could be on the list to get models powered by Exynos 9 processor.

For the manufacturing processor, the Exynos 9 processor is likely to use the 10nm FinFET processor as the mass production had been started in last year. The details of Exynos 9 processor are limited at the moment except Mali-G71 GPU, which offers Vulkan API from Khronos as well as support for smooth mobile VR experience.
