According to a Weibo user in China, the Xiaomi Mi6 has a Snapdragon 835 processor instead of Xiaomi-owned processor. The source stated that it is impossible for Xiaomi to put its untested processor into a high end flagship. Furthermore, the source also claimed that the display of Mi6 is not a curved display like the Mi Note 2.
Earlier sources from China claimed that Xiaomi-developed processor is known as Jian Guo V670 that consists of eight A53 cores and Mali-T860MP4 GPU. The manufacturer of this processor is Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC). For the performance, it was said that V670 is behind the Snapdragon 650 octa-core processor. Hence it is unlikely to feature on a high end flagship.
Apart from the details above, sources from China also claimed that the Jian Guo V670 processor will be used in the Xiaomi Mi5C instead of Mi6 as the C series is a middle-range variant. Another rumored Jian Guo V970 is said to be a high end processor and is likely to appear in the flagships in next year.
