Huawei Mate 9 is the first Mate series’ device to feature dual Leica cameras. On the other hand, Mi5S is the upgraded version of Mi5 and Mi5S Plus is the larger version. Which device features the best specifications? Let’s compare the specs of Huawei Mate 9, Xiaomi Mi5S and Xiaomi Mi5S Plus.

Huawei Mate 9 features a 5.9-inches 2.5D display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (FHD). This flagship smartphone is powered by 64-bit Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor, which consists of four Cortex A73 cores and four A53 cores, as well as i6 co-processor and Mali G71 Octa-core GPU. The RAM memory of Mate 9 starts from 4GB while the internal storage starts from 32GB. There is no worries for storage as Huawei Mate 9 has a microSD slot by sacrificing the second SIM slot.

There are two rear-facing Leica camera lenses for Huawei Mate 9 – 20-megapixel (monochrome) and 12-megapixel (RGB) with f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, CAF, Laser AF, OIS while the front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel shooter (f/1.9 aperture). The Huawei Mate 9 is pre-loaded with EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. The battery of Huawei Mate 9 is a 4,000mAh power battery, which is non-removable and supports SuperCharge.

Generally, the Huawei Mate 9 is available in three versions – 4GB RAM+32GB ROM, 4GB RAM+64GB ROM and 6GB RAM+128GB ROM. Xiaomi Mi5S features a 5.15-inches display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (FHD). This flagship smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro quad-core processor, which consists of two sets of dual-core processor based on Kyro and Adreno 530 GPU, alongside 3GB of RAM. The storage options of Xiaomi Mi5S are 64GB and 128GB (4GB RAM), but it doesn’t support storage

The rear-facing camera of Xiaomi Mi5S is a 13-megapixel Sony IMX378 camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture while the front-facing camera is a 4-megapixel shooter. The operating system of Xiaomi Mi5S is MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow and will receive Android Nougat in the near future. The battery of Xiaomi Mi5S is a 3,200mAh power battery, which is non-removable.

Xiaomi Mi5S is the upgraded version of Xiaomi Mi5 with better processor and better camera. The fingerprint of Mi5S is on the home button.

Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus features a 5.7-inches display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (FHD). This flagship smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro quad-core processor, which consists of two sets of dual-core processor based on Kyro and Adreno 530 GPU, alongside 4GB of RAM. The storage options of Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus are 64GB and 128GB (6GB RAM), but it doesn’t support storage expansion.

The rear-facing camera of Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is a dual 13-megapixel camera (colorful+monochrome) with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture while the front-facing camera is a 4-megapixel shooter. The operating system of Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow and will receive Android Nougat in the near future. The battery of Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is a 3,800mAh power battery, which is non-removable.

Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus has a larger display than Mi 5S and Mi5. In addition, the fingerprint sensor has changed to the back panel.
