CHINA: Chinese brand Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartphone in China – Xiaomi Mi Note 2. It is the successor of Mi Note in last year and a high end flagship. Let’s take a look at the specs of Mi Note 2.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inches 3D dual-curved flexible OLED touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution (FHD) and 386PPI, which is sufficient for daily usage. The 5.7-inches display fits into the dimensions that measure at 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6mm and weights at 166g. The display of Mi Note 2 is slightly similar to the one on Galaxy S7 Edge.
For performance-wise, it is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Pro quad-core processor, which consists of two sets of dual-core processor based on Kyro and Adreno 530 GPU alongside 4GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is 64GB. Unfortunately, there is no microSD slot for storage expansion.
This 5.7-inches device has a 22.56-megapixel Sony IMX318 camera sensor on the back with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, EIS, 6p lens alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera (with f/2.0 aperture and auto-focus) for both selfie and video calls. With the supportive LED flash, users are able to capture brighter photos during the night and under low light conditions. Furthermore, the LED flash is can be used as a flash light as well.
Regarding its network support, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is compatible with multiple LTE network bands and supports dual SIM, hence users are able to insert two SIM cards together. Other key features/specs are NFC, infrared, 3.5mm audio jack, multiple sensors, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, as well as a reversible USB type-C port instead of micro USB port.
MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow version is the operating system of Xiaomi Mi Note 2. As for the battery, it does come with 4,070mAh of battery juice (non-removable).
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a fingerprint sensor, which embedded onto the home button. This Marshmallow flavoured smartphone is available in black and silver colors. The Standard version with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is priced at CNY 2,799 while the Prime version with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM is priced at CNY 3,299. Apart from the two versions, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Global version is priced at CNY 3,499, which supports almost all networks around the world.
