JAPAN: Japanese telco NTT Docomo has officially launched its latest smartphone in Japan – Sony Xperia X Compact (SO-02J). It is the NTT’s version for the Japanese market.
Sony Xperia X Compact (SO-02J) features a 4.6-inches Triluminos touchscreen display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution (HD), which is sufficient for daily usage. The 4.6-inches display fits into the dimensions that measure at 129 x 65 x 9.5 mm and weights at 135g.
For performance-wise, it is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 650 MSM8956 hexa-core processor, which consists of two Cortex A72 cores, four Cortex A53 cores and Adreno 510 GPU alongside 3GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of Sony Xperia X Compact (SO-02J) is 32GB. However, you don’t have to worry about storage because it also supports external storage expansion through microSD card.
This 4.6-inches device has a 23-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, Exmor RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive Hybrid AF, 5-axis stabilization and 4K video recording. On the other hand, another camera on the front is a 5-megapixel with 1/3.06″ Exmor RS sensor, 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens and 1080p video recording. With the supportive LED flash, users are able to capture brighter photos during the night and under low light conditions. Furthermore, the LED flash is can be used as a flash light as well.
The fingerprint sensor of Sony Xperia X Compact (SO-02J) embedded on the power button, which is slightly different from other devices. Other key features/specs of this smartphone are ISDB-T, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, multiple sensors, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Sony Xperia X Compact features the new USB Type-C port instead of micro USB.
Regarding its network support, Sony Xperia X Compact (SO-02J) is compatible with multiple LTE network bands. As a result, the device supports at least download speed on 4G of 500Mbps and upload speed on 4G of 50Mbps
Xperia UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow version is the operating system of Xperia X Compact. As for the battery, it does come with a 2,700mAh built-in battery and supports Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology.
This Marshmallow flavoured smartphone is available in Soft Pink, Mist Blue, Universe Black and White colors and will be available in the Asian country in the middle of November.
