Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was announced as the first flagship from major brands with an iris scanner. On the other hand, the Meizu MX6 was announced as the first smartphone with TDDI InCell display and Meizu MX5 was its predecessor. Which device features the best specifications? Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inches curved Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution. This flagship smartphone is powered by either 64-bit Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor or Exynos 8890 octa-core processor. The RAM memory of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is 4GB, which is rather a disappointment as the Korean company is yet to jump onto 6GB RAM bandwagon.
The rear-facing camera of Galaxy Note 7 is a 12-megapixel shooter with LED flash, dual pixel PDAF, Smart OIS, f/1.7 aperture while the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel shooter with f/1.7 aperture too. TouchWiz UI on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is the operating system of Galaxy Note 7 and comes with a 3,500mAh non-removable battery. Iris scanner on the front is also first of its kind for a flagship smartphone from major brands alongside fingerprint sensor and heart rate sensor.
Samsung has improved the Note 7 further with IP68 ratings water and dust resistance. Improved S Pen stylus and USB Type-C port are another two important features of Galaxy Note 7.
Meizu MX6 features a 5.5-inches TDDI InCell display with FHD resolution. This flagship smartphone is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797 deca-core processor, which consists of two Cortex A72 cores, two sets of four Cortex A53 cores and 780MHz Mali T880 GPU while RAM memory is 4GB. The rear-facing camera of Meizu MX6 smartphone is a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual tone LED flash while the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel shooter.
The operating system is Flyme OS on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it supports multiple 4G LTE bands. The battery of Meizu MX6 is a 3,060mAh built-in battery and there is a mTouch fingerprint sensor that embedded onto the home button. The Meizu MX6 has lower megapixels than the previous Meizu MX5, but the new Sony IMX386 camera sensor is indeed better. The TDDI InCell display of Meizu MX6 is also the first of its kind.
Meizu MX5 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo MT6795T octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM memory. The main camera of Meizu MX5 is a 20.7-megapixel camera with laser focus and Sony Exmor RS sensor together with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is running on Flyme 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and comes with a 3,150 non-removable battery as well as improved mTouch 2.0 fingerprint scanner. The Meizu MX5 is available in three version 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage option, bu doesn’t support storage expansion.
