The Snapdragon 820 processor alongside Exynos 7420, MTK Helio X25 and Hisilicon Kirin 955 are among the best processors to-date. Well. We’ve the benchmark scores of Snapdragon 820 against Helio X25 and Hisilicon Kirin 955.

Antutu

The first test was Antutu benchmark test. The Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor scored 128,376 points, followed by MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T with 99,648 points and Hisilicon Kirin 955 with 98,364 points. The Samsung Exynos 7420 with 81,473 points and the MediaTek Helio X10 was the lowest 53,349 points.

The Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor has the highest score among all five processors while the Helio X10 has the lowest.

GeekBench 3

The second test was GeekBench 3 benchmark test and there were two scores for it. For the single-core test, Snapdragon 820 was the highest followed by MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T and Hisilicon Kirin 955. The Samsung Exynos 7420 was on fourth position and the MediaTek Helio X10 was again the lowest. For the multi-core test, MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T got the highest score followed by Hisilicon Kirin 955 and Snapdragon 820 was ranked at third. Again, Samsung Exynos 7420 and Helio X10 were the last two.

In single-core, the Snapdragon 820 has the highest score but MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T and Hisilicon Kirin 955 did score higher points than Snapdragon 820 in multi-core test.

GFXBench

The third test was GFXBench benchmark test, which is about 3D graphics benchmark. The first test of GFXBench was T-Res Offscreen. Snapdragon 820 has recorded 85 fps, far ahead of second place Samsung Exynos 7420 with 41 fps and MediaTek Helio X25 MT6797T was not far behind with 39.5 fps. The Hisilicon Kirin 955 took the fourth position with 23.2 fps and Helio X10 was the last with 23 fps. The second test was Manhattan Offscreen and the positions were the same with T-Res Offscreen.

Clearly, the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor will provide better graphics experience than the rest of processors.

”ARMS” RACE/ SoC WARS – So Qualcomm leads, Advantage in Efficiency of 14nm process (Sheer ”Grunt” & Thermal Dispersion) & will leapfrog agin with Snapdragon 823/830 SoC Variants & ”Overclocking” – Surprise is just how quickly Huawei’s inhouse, HiSilicon Kirin SoC’s (955 here) have come; 16nm process but DDR4 RAM, UFS 2.0 ROM & CAT 6 LTE,……; Will HiSilicon make further in-roads on MTK’s & maybe Exynos’ innovation. The ARMS Race is speeding up & Moore’s law is very much alive – QMAMBO13

Hello good alternative to this processor is the MT6797T excellent smartphone derive from this CPU: http://www.mygatre.net/phone.html
by buying one I was noticing an excellent fluidity of Mediatek processor Snapdragon 820 but one would be better on this type of mobile phones.

  • QMAMBO13

If You look at benchmarked performanced across the board (but even Antutu) Snapdragon’s 820 is approx ”One Third” quicker than the BEST of The ‘Second Tier’ Processors; Quite apart from that, Qualcomm are light years ahead with their SoC’s, ”Zeroth” AI PLatform which will add aggregate advantages in the future; I’m looking to a leveraging & synergy between ‘Zeroth’ & Google’s AI (With The Cloud as ‘amplifier’). Other Fabricators can produce a powerful processor, but NO-ONE integrates Hardware, Software & AI Components to other parts of a Device (eg RAM & UFS 2.0 ROM) as seamlessly, functionally & effectively as Qualcomm; All of those improvements take ”sheer grunt” & elevate it to level of Excellence – QMAMBO13

And even modem, dsp, isp better that any other product

Except Huawei Kirin now out Does the Qualcomm. I myself prefer the exynos over the sd820 variant of the note 7&s7e. Better battery life & ive never found myself bothered by lag or load times. On paper it may look like the exynos is miles behind but in daily use its no different.ee

I’ve ordered the new Xiaomi redmi pro with the Helio X25 and 3gb ram , will it be as great as i had my xiaomi mi4 with a SD801 ? or even better ?

    • Cross Dev

Better. Even the Redmi Note 2 ouperforms it with the X10

      • MrcheGuev

I’m not sure that the redmi note 2 outperform the Meizu pro 6 ;-)

        • Cross Dev

Of course not. Helio X10 vs Helio X25? Nah. The Redmi Note 2 is terrible in the battery department.

          • MrcheGuev

And i think this redmi pro with a good use of the battery manager can run two days with that 4100mAh :p

          • Cross Dev

I have the Redmi Note 3 Pro and battery can span 7 – 8 hours of SOT (screen on time) if you disconnect it as soon as it hits 100%. Otherwise, overnight charging, it will hit 5 – 6 hours of SOT. All Xiaomi smartphones except the Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note are picky with charging.

          • Cross Dev

For example. In real time, this is about a whole day of use, usually with battery to spare for tomorrow.

          • MrcheGuev

Wow holy crap ! Worsr than an iPhone :o

          • Cross Dev

The iPhone only has about 4 hours of SOT, about 5 – 6 on average if you have the TSMC variant.

          • MrcheGuev

I think and hope the redmi pro that came in chinese store the 9th August worth the wait a’d hope i pit it in !

          • David Berry

The redmi pro with x25 can go over a day easy. Mtk have come a long way in battery management department. I have found the x25 to be pretty good on the stock chinese/English Rom & the battery complaints come from those who’ve had other roms installed as the redmi pro never had an official international version of miui8 for redmi pro as it never got released internationally. The x25 & 820 seem comparable as do the exy &the hi.kirin in the p9. I find redmi pro is ok for screen on time cos it’s oled as you probably know already. Its compatible to a note 5or7 in terms of avge daily usage. I can jump grom 1 to the other with no noticeable difference. They are a great phone for the money. That & the Apollo would be a hard choice. Xiaomi has the 2cams (which i find pretty much a unnecessary gimik on phones like p9 p10&ip7+) & a great build quality but the Apollo has 2k lcd screen & vr but idk how well mtk manage with vr.

    • Karly Johnston

I would certainly hope it is better.

      • MrcheGuev

What do you think of it ?

        • Karly Johnston

If they unlock the LTE bands I will buy one myself at $300.

          • MrcheGuev

Hmm what do you mean by unlock them ? Here in France the 700/800hertz band isn’t used lot :p !

          • Karly Johnston

EU uses B20 the most and it doesn’t have that either.

    • David Berry

Did u like it? Great build & the x25 on stock miui8 can go 2days. Sure you have some Chinese apps & search box in pull down notification shade but rather that than the problems that can occur with un officia international rom

      • MrcheGuev

Yeah i loved it but i changed for a xiaomi mi note 2 , more powerful with an international rom. I will have to change it for a lg g6 cause of the google assistant that gonna release this summer in french.
