Chinese brand Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartphone in Brazil – the Redmi 2. The launch of Redmi 2 in Brazil represents the entry of Xiaomi brand in the North American country. Let’s take a look at its specs in this post.
Redmi 2 has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution (HD) and 312ppi. The device is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 quad-core processor based on Cortex A53 as well as Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM memory. The internal storage of Redmi 2 is 8GB and there is a microSD slot for further storage expansion.
Redmi 2 features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Both cameras have CMOS image sensor for better photo quality. Other notable features of Redmi 2 are 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz).
The Redmi 2 smartphone supports FDD-LTE 2600(B7)/1900(B2)/1700(B4) MHz, W-CDMA 2100(I)/1900(II)/900(VIII)/850(V) MHz and GSM 1900/1800/900/850 MHz of network frequencies (Please check with local carriers for network compatibility). The device supports maximum download speed on data of 150Mbps and maximum upload speed on data of 50Mbps due to its LTE UE Category 4 support. Redmi 2 is a dual-SIM smartphone and has two SIM card slots (micro-SIM).
The Redmi 2 is running on MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat version of operating system and comes with a 2,265mAh battery.
Redmi 2 is priced at $499 (local currency) in Brazil.
