Huawei and LG have been reported several times in the past as the ideal candidates of the upcoming Nexus smartphone from Google. It looks like the Chinese brand has prevailed after the latest info claimed that Huawei is working with the Mountain View based company on the new Nexus smartphone.
The Information reports that Huawei is in line to produce the new Nexus smartphone, which is said to be planned for fall. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard on the Huawei Nexus samrtphone. Previously, it was reported that Google is going to release two Nexus smartphones – the 5.2-inch Nexus smartphone is from LG while the larger 5.7-inch Nexus smartphone is from Huawei.
If the reports are true, then we shall see two Nexus smartphones in this year and will compete with upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Huawei will become the first Chinese brand to release Nexus related device, but HTC and Asus from neighbour country are among the Google partners since a few years back.
The same source claims that talks are in progress for Huawei to help Google bring a mobile app store to China, where government regulations have restricted the search giant from conducting much business of note. Developers can upload apps to sell internationally, but consumers in China can’t download anything.
As a, sort-of, exchange for this help in China, Google will reportedly help Huawei market its smart watch in the western market. What’s more, a Nexus phone with Huawei’s brand-name on it would do nothing but boost the manufacturer’s reputation and recognition in the American country.
