The Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus were leaked not long ago and the Korean manufacturer has officially launched the former at a press event in Russia.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is available in two variants – 8-inch (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8) and 9.7-inch (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7). Both Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 will come with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, a Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz (most likely a Snapdragon 410), 4G LTE connectivity, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Galaxy Tab A 8 will come with 16GB of internal storage and a 4,200mAh battery that will last for 10 hours. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 will come with two loudspeakers, but we are unable to confirm whether they are stereo speakers.

Both Galaxy Tab A tablets are running on the TouchWiz UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, which Samsung boasts is less bloated and better performance. The 8-inch and 9.7-inch Tab A’s will go on sale in Russia next month; the 8-inch will be priced at around 16,990 – 18,990 rubles and 20,990 – 22,990 rubles for the Wi-Fi and LTE variants, while the 9.7-inch variants will cost around 20,990 – 22,990 rubles and 24,990 – 26,990 rubles for the Wi-Fi and LTE models.
