The unannounced Sony D5103 was spotted on the GFXBench database about two months ago. That time was the first time Sony D5103 made its public appearance. Again, the same device was spotted on the POSTEL Indonesia’s database.
The information from POSTEL Indonesia revealed that the Sony D5103 device was added to the list of approved device two days ago, on April 2, 2014. POSTEL is the authority in Indonesia that equivalent to the FCC in the United States. All the new devices that set to launch in Indonesia need to approve/certify by POSTEL.
POSTEL Indonesia only revealed the model number and told us that it is a cell phone as the details are scarce. We can take the partial specs that were leaked through the GFXBench for further references on this upcoming new device.
The Sony D5103 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat after the device was tested on GFXBench with this version of Android operating system. The GFXBenchmark also revealed that Sony D5103 has a Snapdragon 400 series processor that paired with Adreno 330 GPU. It could be any Snapdragon 400 processor as long as the Adreno 330 GPU. We are not sure about the processor model yet, but it will have a quad-core processor.
Sony D5103 will also ship with a main camera of at least 8-megapixel and a secondary camera of at least 1.3-megapixel. GFXBench did not reveal full information about the Sony D5103 as both cameras might be tested with lower resolution mode. The features of the camera include autofocus, face detection, LED flash, HDR and touch to focus.
A recent report tipped that Sony D5103 is the Sony Xperia G that was leaked in February. The Sony Xperia G was expected to launch at MWC 2014, but it did not happen. The appearance of Sony D5103 in the database of POSTEL Indonesia fuels the speculation of Sony Xperia G once again.
