As we already knew that the BlackBerry had been struggling since last year. With the introduction of the BlackBerry 10 operating system and several new devices like BlackBerry Z10, the company still failing to increase their sales and profits. Lenovo is the latest candidate to include in the list of potential buyers of BlackBerry.
According to WSJ, Lenovo has reportedly signed a non-disclosure agreement to take a closer look at the financial situation of BlackBerry. Earlier in last week, several rumors suggested that the Chinese company was looking into a possible HTC acquisition. Both HTC and BlackBerry are struggling in the highly competitive market.
Lenovo has several smartphone series include the latest Vibe series that was launched a few weeks ago. It seems like the number 1 PC maker looking to expand beyond the Chinese market with the help of an established company. Lenovo becomes the leader in the PC market with the help from the acquisition of IBM a few years back.
The acquisition of Lenovo on BlackBerry may happen in the same way like Nokia. Microsoft purchased the mobile phone division of the Finnish company while the other divisions are remaining with Nokia. Lenovo may purchase the mobile phone division of BlackBerry and introduce BlackBerry brand Android devices in the future.
