After Microsoft purchased Nokia phone unit, it has new plans for the Windows Phone. One of the plans is to allow Windows Phone running on Android devices.
According to Bloomberg, Microsoft is encouraging HTC to introduce new Windows Phone devices. Microsoft plans to allow Windows Phone supports current Android devices in the market. In other words, Microsoft may tweak the Windows Phone OS for the compatibility.
Bloomberg further mentioned that Microsoft is discussing and considering to low down the licensing fees of Windows Phone. Microsoft may cancel the licensing fee as well in order to attract more manufacturers.
It is hard to imagine if Windows Phone is an open source operating system. Of course, open source operating system is definitely going to attract more manufacturers like Android. We shall continue to observe the Windows Phone market in order to figure out the next step of Microsoft.
